The Homeland Movement (Domovinski pokret, DP) is a Croatian right-wing populist and nationalist party founded on 29 February 2020 by Miroslav Škoro. The party combines Croatian nationalism, national conservatism, social conservatism, right-wing populism, and soft Euroscepticism. It supports Croatia’s membership in the EU and Schengen but opposes adoption of the euro. DP emphasizes traditional family values, and opposes abortion and same-sex marriage. In 2021, Škoro stepped down amid internal conflict and Ivan Penava became party president. In the 2024 parliamentary elections, the DP-led coalition earned 14 seats, repositioning the party as a kingmaker. It then entered into a coalition with HDZ in May 2024. Its platform aligns with broader European national conservatism through its emphasis on sovereignty, cultural identity, and skepticism toward supranational governance.
