The Muslim Association of Ireland (MAI) is an Islamic organization operating in Ireland that has been consistently identified as part of the European network of the Muslim Brotherhood. Established in the early 2000s, the MAI is linked to the Brussels-based Federation of Islamic Organizations in Europe (FIOE)—now known as the Council of European Muslims (CEM)—which serves as the Brotherhood’s principal coordinating framework on the continent. The association shares leadership connections, ideological orientation, and institutional cooperation with FIOE/CEM and related entities such as the European Council for Fatwa and Research (ECFR), situating it firmly within the Brotherhood’s European structure. Through community activities, educational programs, and religious outreach, the MAI functions as the Brotherhood’s main representative body in Ireland.
