Muslimische Jugend in Deutschland

Islamism

The Muslimische Jugend in Deutschland e.V. (MJD) is a Berlin-based Muslim youth organization founded in 1994, promoting Islamic education and identity among young Muslims in Germany. Although it presents itself as an independent association, multiple sources—including academic studies and government-linked reports—have noted its ideological proximity to the Muslim Brotherhood and ties to the international Muslim Brotherhood movement. This connection is reflected more broadly in its alignment with other European Muslim organizations such as FEMYSO (Forum of European Muslim Youth and Student Organisations), which the European Parliament has identified as influenced by the Brotherhood. While the MJD is not formally part of the Brotherhood’s organizational structure, researchers see it as operating within a network of European Muslim youth groups that share core ideological principles rooted in Brotherhood teachings.
