Revival (Bulgarian: Възраждане)

GNCA

Revival (Bulgarian: Възраждане) is a far-right, ultranationalist political party in Bulgaria, founded on 2 August 2014 and led by Kostadin Kostadinov. It blends national conservatism, right-wing populism, and strong Euroscepticism, with a platform that opposes NATO membership, criticizes EU influence, and foregrounds cultural identity and sovereignty. The party has adopted a pro-Russian orientation, frequently challenging mainstream foreign policy, pushing for “foreign agent” type laws to restrict NGO funding, and promoting anti-LGBTQ+ and vaccine-skeptical agendas. Revival’s electoral rise has been rapid: after initial marginal performance, it entered the National Assembly in 2021 and by 2023 secured 37 seats, becoming a major player in Bulgarian politics. Its platform connects closely with European national conservative movements, especially through its emphasis on sovereignty, rejection of supranational governance, and defense of national identity.
