Federation of Muslims of France (Fédération des Musulmans de France, FMF)

The Federation of Muslims of France (Fédération des Musulmans de France, FMF), formerly known as the Union of Islamic Organisations of France (UOIF), is one of France’s major Muslim umbrella organizations. Founded in 1983, it is affiliated with the Federation of Islamic Organizations in Europe (FIOE), which has been widely described as linked to the Muslim Brotherhood. A French government-commissioned report identified the FMF as the primary institutional expression of the Brotherhood in France, accusing it of using “entryism” to influence public institutions and promote conservative religious norms. The FMF has rejected these claims, insisting it is independent of any foreign political agenda and warning against conflating Islam with political Islamism. It organizes the annual Rencontre Annuelle des Musulmans de France (RAMF), one of the largest Muslim events in Europe. It manages hundreds of religious, educational, and charitable associations across the country.
